ABC gets a demographic win as Jillian narrows the field

ABC won Monday's ratings on the demographic side and made things tight in the overall race, but it couldn't quite overcome CBS' hold on the night.
CBS drew 7.4 million viewers and a 4.8 rating/8 share in households for the night, just beating ABC's 7 million viewers and 4.7/8. NBC came in third at 4.0/7. FOX, 2.7/5, was fourth, and The CW brought up the rear with a 0.6/1.
ABC scored a 2.4 rating in the adults 18-49 demo to beat out CBS' 2.1. NBC, 1.5, took third, followed closely by FOX, 1.4. The CW was well off the pace at 0.4.
"The Bachelorette" earned a 5.1/9 for ABC at 8 p.m. CBS was second for the hour with reruns of "How I Met Your Mother," 3.6/6, and "Rules of Engagement," 3.7/6. A "Law & Order" repeat on NBC, 3.4/6, grabbed third. FOX got a 2.6/5 from an "American Idol" rerun that featured the songs of Michael Jackson. The CW went with "Gossip Girl."
"The Bachelorette" (5.6/9) led in households and adults 18-49 at 9 with its best numbers of the season so far. CBS, however, had a slight edge in total viewers with "Two and a Half Men," 5.8/10, and "The Big Bang Theory," 5.1/8. NBC stayed in third with "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," 3.8/6. "American Idol" drew a 2.7/4 for FOX, while The CW limped home with "One Tree Hill."
"CSI: Miami," 5.4/9, led the 10 o'clock hour over "Dateline NBC," 4.6/8. "Here Come the Newlyweds" scored a 3.4/6 for ABC.Ratings information includes live and same-day DVR viewing. All numbers are preliminary and subject to change.
